The Chilean-Italian soprano Catalina Bertucci earned a music degree in Chile and later pursued advanced studies with Barbara Schlick at the Conservatory in Cologne. She then went on to complete her Konzertexamen with Gerhild Romberger at the Conservatory in Detmold. She has also participated in masterclasses with Angelika Kirchschlager, András Schiff, and Andreas Scholl among others.
Bertucci has appeared at the Volksoper in Vienna, the Landestheater in Linz, the Opéra de Lausanne, the Wiesbaden State Theatre, the Dresden Semperoper, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, the Darmstadt State Theatre, and other operatic venues. She has sung in performances of The Magic Flute, Gianni Schicchi, Don Giovanni, Der Rosenkavalier, The Rake’s Progress, Marriage of Figaro, and La Bohéme. In 2024, she made her debut at the Bayreuth Festival as Klingsor’s flower maiden, under the direction of Pablo Heras-Casado. Invitations from Bayreuth for 2025 and 2026 have followed.
She is also a sought-after concert soloist, performing under the direction of conductors such as Ton Koopman, Thomaskantors Gotthold Schwarz and Andreas Reize, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Hansjörg Albrecht, Rubén Dubrovsky, and Howard Arman. She has appeared with noted orchestras and in important concert venues and festivals.
Her passion for art song is reflected in many recitals. Together with Helmut Deutsch, she has performed at the Teatro del Lago in Frutillar, Chile, and at the Diademus Festival in Roggenburg.
